Love bites

I wasn't intending on mentioning anything to do with hearts today (broken or whole), flowers (with or without thorns), chocolate (pure or even full of nuts), love (bitter or sweet) and romance (searingly painful or warm and giving).

An article in the local paper changed all that. It asked for romantic places in the city. They are plentiful, but this one spot sprung to mind; a fence surrounding a building site, painted in bold red, and instead of the standard viewing holes, hearts have been cut.

I also heard this song today. It's rather lovely.

Anne Frank once wrote: "Where there's hope, there's life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again."

Whilst my heart beats, I have hope that one day it'll beat a little faster again.
