Out on the hills

What a beautiful morning in the Peak District.

I tried out my new found freedom and walked and walked. It all felt new with no schedule, no time limit, no need to say when I would return.

For safety I did say roughly where I was going but that’s all I need to do now.

This is the Pennine Way above Torside Clough in Longdendale in the Derbyshire Peak District but in fact I never walked a step of the path. I approached this position across the moors from Old Glossop and hitting this point took some photos and decided it was far enough. it was also far too busy on that route, too many people about.
I returned to quieter tracks and returned home.

I watched the end of the County Cricket Somerset and Essex on the iPlayer.
A draw but Essex won the Bob Willis Trophy in a penalty shootout, no apparently it was because they scored more runs in the 1st Innings even though Somerset scored more runs in total!
Oh dear I have just watched Match of the Day 2.  The farce that is VAR (refereeing from a cloud ?) making up new interpretations for old rules handball can now be if the ball hits your arm and even if you are not looking at the time.  No fans due to Covid19 pandemic at all these sports events. Top level sport without fans has no future.  The players may as well just work from home and do it on-line.

My photo of the day was a panoramic and they don’t work well on Blipfoto so I stored it on that other user owned, user run website Ipernity (a non-commercial alternative to Flickr and all those other photo sites where you have no say on how they are run)

the photo,  it’s HERE  and the best I have taken recently
