More family fun
Another chance to see Susan’s family, this time her nephew and wife and their three children. We had another very entertaining time in Mugdock Country Park near Milngavie to the north of Glasgow.
Once again the weather was spectacularly kind. Blue skies and sunshine all day, only getting colder later in the afternoon. Great fun both on the built playground and the more natural wooded areas which provided much entertainment for all the children.
After lunch, when the family had gone home we went on a further walk down memory lane for Susan. Out onto what she called “The Moors” then to Milngavie and on to Mugdock Reservoir which she used to walk around with her parents over 40 years ago. Places change over that length of time so she wasn’t quite sure what it was like all that time ago.
We walked a little of the West Highland Way, the opposite way to the usual direction, finishing at the start in Milngavie!
Big trip south tomorrow after a wonderful week away. Just what was needed, not really looking forward to getting back into all the caring stuff. Some disappointment attached to the week: we didn’t get to see Susan’s other niece and their family up in Forres and of course, this is the week we were meant to be in California seeing Chris and grandson Landon.
