Hampton Court Palace

After being randomly selected to test for Covid19 as part of the NHS and Imperial College research project, and once I had received the swab kit I had to then book a courier to collect it and then on the day of the courier collection I had to make sure the swab was taken, sealed and placed in the box ready for collection by 8am. That day was today, so I was up early and did the swab test. I was dreading doing it as I had heard it was so uncomfortable but actually it wasn't that bad at all, and my main concern was that I was doing it correctly. You have to insert the swab down the back of your throat on to each tonsil, and if you gag you know you have gone deep enough - I did. Then you have to insert the same swab up your nose until it cannot go further and if your eyes water you know it is deep enough - they did. Then the box had to be placed in the fridge until the courier arrived to collect it. I was concerned he would come late in the day and I would spend all day waiting for the collection, but I received a text this morning giving me a 2 hour window of collection and it was collected by 10am so I was able to then get out and get on with my day.

Gavin and I had a lovely walk on Oxshott Heath this morning, although it was cloudy and blustery and quite cold. After lunch we decided to go for another walk and so we drove up to Hampton Court and we walked along the river bank of the Thames. There were many other walkers and cyclists, and we met three other Vizzies, which Xena enjoyed. I took this photo of the palace from the path through the fence.

Now a lazy Sunday night lies ahead, which will involve watching TV and relaxing.
