A Labour of 7 Years

It's documented that I have and enjoy an allotment. It's documented that I have great success with many vegetables and harvest is plenty.
A carrot has never been documented.

I have tried for 7 years or more to grow carrots. In the soil, in sandy soil, in a tub, in a tub of sand, in an air pot full of grit and sand...... you name it I've tried it. Small, crooked, forked, carrot fly molested carrots have been hailed a success, but not so.

This stray seed which appeared where last years, ehm, carrots had been attempted showed itself around July. I ignored it but let it be. Today I talked about pulling my 'carrot'. Oh how we laughed, how small, or crooked, or many forked would it be.....
But lo, THE most perfect carrot, with not a blemish or fork in sight, arose from the soil.

7 years hard labour, and finally I can say oh yes, I grow carrot. Hallelujah!
