The Stripey Street Cat

This stencilled cat started appearing in various colours on local streets about 10 years ago, but it was new to me. One origin story goes that it was created by a spurned lover for the object of his affections - or stalking victim, depending on your perspective. The child-friendly version is that the cat is looking for its friend. There’s a kids’ book and an indicative map to help find 19 or so of the 50+ cats. We found one, but the best part was exploring back streets we hadn’t been down before.
