Stained glass windows
So sadly, our holiday in the Northeast finished today. On our way home we stopped off for a while at Durham. It's a World Heritage site with the Norman cathedral being the home to the Shrine of St. Cuthbert, and the 11the century Castle being the home of the University since 1832.
This is the Rose window and the extra is the Millenium Window dedicated in 1997. It commemorates the 1000th anniversary of the arrival of St Cuthbert's body. Apart from depicting images symbolic of St Cuthbert's life, it also celebrates the more recent history of the region such as mining, ship-building and locomotives.
