The Castle

Knutsford, in Cheshire, has this strange Italianate looking building in amongst Tudor style surroundings. It always puts me in mind of a slightly dystopian world such as Kafka's The Castle.
It is in fact the Gaskell Memorial Tower, her of Cranford fame, and was built in 1907.
