#5 castellated

Today's word in the Dictionary Project is 'castellated'. The definition is:

Having turrets and battlements like a castle.

My original idea was to try to make a hat with turrets on it but you were spared that when I thought of the chess pieces. Alas my chess set is not terribly illustrious although I think the board is quite old and is leather coated. I bought the small games compendium about 15 years ago at a fleamarket in Germany. It contains a pack of cards which has one card which I may blip some time. It says "buy your war bonds now". I suspect the chess pieces have been replaced with these cheap plastic ones at some point.

This blip has also given me the opportunity to use the new toy I referred to a few days ago. for less than £15 including postage, I bought some macro fliters for my nikon and have had great fun with them. There are four of them: 1+, 2+, 4+ and 10+. The information said that they were for the Nikkor 50mm lens but I have had the best effects and versatility using them with my 50-200mm lens. I can get reasonable macro shots and can also play with DOF in less close-up shots. I used the 1+ with the 50mm lens for yesterday's blip and today I have used the 4+ with the 50-200mm lens.

Feeling a bit under the weather this week. I am resisting a desire to go back to bed for a month or two and hope all problems disappear. Ah well, I can hide equally well from my problems in the great outdoors so that's where I'm headed soon. Hope the week is treating you all well.

Origins of the Dictionary Project
I took the baton from Banana Blips on the Dictionary Project. This was initiated by Scattered Polaroids who is currently working on another great project. If you follow the links above you will see how they both introduced the project and be at the beginning of their entries. The idea is to select a word randomly from the dictionary each day and illustrate it in your blip.
