Date Night

Quarantine Day 2

Our Tesco delivery arrived just after 10am, I’d pre-warned them that we were in quarantine and said if they could just leave the bags outside near the front door we’d bring them inside.  Yet we were surprised to see that the delivery guy wasn’t wearing a mask, and despite me reminding him that we were quarantining, he proceeded to pass things through the door - we did have our masks on though and kept a safe distance from him.

Luckily everything on my order was delivered which is good as I’ve been sent photos from a friend who was in Sainsbury’s where shelves were bear again, particularly toilet rolls and flour!  It’s crazy, the people who stockpile are the ones that cause a problem, and you would think after last time that the supermarkets would start to limit certain items again.

I did two wash loads and managed to get them hung out to dry, it wasn’t very warm but it was sunny and very windy!  And after lunch we made a start on the garage, although we didn’t get very far!  Alan brought three boxes into the house, two of which contained old photo albums, so I enjoyed going through them.  I’ve added an extra of Sir Cliff Richard that I took many years ago when we saw him in Portugal - Alan and I visited the town of Loule, probably about 18 years ago and Cliff walked past us in the street.  Then later in the day as we were leaving, we saw him again and I told Alan to stop the car.  I wanted to take a street shot with him in it, so I jumped out and walked towards where Cliff was stood and tried to get a good photo but couldn’t.  I walked back to where Alan had dropped me off, but there was no sign of him, so I stood waiting and the next minute Cliff and his friend were walking towards me. I didn’t know what to do, so walked straight towards him and held out my hand and said ‘hi Cliff’.  He shook my hand and I asked if he’d mind me taking his photo as I had a friend who was a big fan (this was the truth although I bet he thought it was really for me), to which he replied ‘you’ve already taken one haven’t you?’  He’d obviously seen me, imagine how I felt lol!  But I said that no I didn’t actually take one.  Anyway, he posed very nicely for me in his Mickey Mouse tee shirt :-)

Tonight we had a Thai meal delivered, and again I told them that we were isolating and as I’d pre-paid I asked them to just ring the bell and leave the food on the doorstep, which they did.  And once we’d eaten we went into the Palace for Friday night date night.

Two down and twelve to go!
