What a day it has been!! As I went to bed last night, I spotted the start of hives/swelling on my left heel/ankle. This morning it was worse so by 9am I’d emailed Derriford with a description of what was happening and photos.
I then did a bit of Anti Money Laundering checks on a client before some CPD - a HMRC webinar on the VAT domestic reverse charge. Thrilling I tell you!
Derriford came back and asked me to try and get a biopsy booked at Treliske. This was a success and they agreed for me to go in at 3.
The Boy has been asking for new clothes for a couple of weeks and I’d promised to take him today. So off we went to Truro with him driving but via Redruth as per his driving instructor’s request - he’s familiar with driving Falmouth to Redruth and Truro to Redruth but has never done Falmouth to Truro!!
By the time we reached the outskirts of Truro it was lunchtime so we stopped off at Chacewater Garden Centre for an all day breakfast, followed by Matalan before I was dropped off at Treliske.
Naively I’d assumed that the biopsy would just be a little scrape of skin so I was quite surprised when I was told there was a bit of a delay as they were getting the theatre ready!! Turns out they would do 2 4mm punch biopsies in my left heel/ankle which would need stitches and to be kept dry for 48 hours.
I was out again at 4 and waited for my lift back home. We couldn’t face driving back via Redruth at 4.30 on a Friday afternoon so braved the new route home - The Boy did it brilliantly!
As I walked through the front door at 5.15, the house phone rang - our GP who had been contacted by Derriford to arrange a prescription of steroids in case the hives get worse over the weekend. By 5.45 I’d collected them from the chemist!!
Freezer surprise for tea and I’m now snuggled up on the sofa with MrRoly and a cat in front of another cracking fire watching Des. Happy Friday :-D
