WHERE'S WALDO?
I have succeeded in attracting hummingbirds to my flower gardens with CUPHEA & LANTANA, but photographing them is still a work in progress. This is probably the 100th photo I have taken of them, but it only qualifies for an ABSTRACT. My IPhone is probably not up to the challenge, so I may
need to borrow my husband's camera, for any future captures.
Here is an update on the BOBCAT wildfire in Southern California, from the Las Angeles Times:
Since it started, 113,000 acres have burned, with 50 structures destroyed, including 24 homes. It is 50% contained, which is a big jump in the right direction. The new projection on when it will be contained is good news: 9/30/2020, which is a month sooner than originally projected. This is because it has moved through the dry vegetation of the Angeles National Forest, into the desert terrain of the Antelope Valley. There is not as much fuel there, which has slowed it down: & allowed firefighters a chance to
contain it. The Santa Ana winds have also been calmer than expected. Evacuations are being lifted, which is more good news.
There have been 8000 fires burning in California this year, which seems
unimaginable.
Climate change is real.
