Black Cat Post, Allington

Today I had to get out between downpours. It was absolutely chucking it down when I got up to take my brother to the station but after I returned home there was a break in the rain and I went for a run and then took a trip out to Allington. I parked my car in the country park and walked down towards Allington Lock (see my secondary image). On the road down to the Lock I passed a post box which was being illuminated by a large shaft of light and had the image of a black cat peeking around the corner  and this is my main image.
It reminded me of our black cat called Tibby, aka "The Tibster", who sadly is no longer with us (although he did live to a fairly ripe old age of 13). He was an affectionate cat but as with most cats he also had a very independent spirit so would sometimes disappear for whole days at a time and return only when he was ready to be fed or stroked. When he started to get older he was much less adventurous and took to falling asleep on your lap for hours on end and woe betide you if you dared to move - the claws would come out, dig into your lap and he would give you a look that under no circumstances were you allowed to disturb him! He was a real character and I still miss him even now.
