End of a dream

A group of about five guys were sailing their yacht along the coast last night intending to go into Blakeney. Approaching the entrance the engine failed and they were unable to make headway under sail against wind and tide. They decided to anchor until morning but the anchor didn’t hold and in desperation they beached the boat and scrambled ashore. In less than 12 hours the sea reduced the boat to matchwood.
The owner and crew were standing despondently on the shore collecting possessions as they washed out of the wreck.
