Just a few rotten apples...

The biggest and most prolific of our apple trees is unfortunately the one with the least interesting fruit. These have been spread out in a shed for a few weeks and I've just removed the ones that were too far gone - the rest will go for juicing tomorrow. It's fascinating to see the different ways in which they rot, and the different stages in the process.
