The tractor.
After living in the city for 20 years you get used to all types of noise. Now that we're out in the countryside it's a lot quieter, not a lot happens round here. Which is kinda nice.
But one of my favourite sounds is the farmer ploughing the nearby fields. It's nice to be reminded of where we are, and get a heightened sense of what season it is. And today despite the freezing snowy weather when we woke this morning there was Anderson working away.
I can wave to him from my greenhouse & potting shed on one side of the garden and see him from our little orchard on the other.
And when he'd finished, all that was left was the sight of beautifully furrowed dark brown east lothian earth. Lovely.
