LAKE VICTORIA (ww230920)

This is a photo of Lake Victoria in Christchurch which was man-made at the time of the great Exhibition led in England by Victoria's Husband Prince Albert. To the right of the trees in the distance is the small lake which feeds Victoria called 'Lake Albert' This is a natural spring and is controlled by a Gate letting the water in or out.. The lake is a great asset to Christchurch but hard to manage because of the weed.  Weed eating sexless carp have been introduced to help with the weed problem.
