The Parson's Gate

If you came from Granton and Pilton, Parsons Peebles was one of those type of places.

The company began as Bruce Peebles before a merger saw it become Parsons Peebles and although it went through a few more name changes, it was always known simply as "Parsons" to all in the area.

It's speciality was transformers and dynamos and they sold all over the world particularly to the Empire.

In 1999, an enormous fire saw the company now V A Tech Peebles move away from the site, which is now housing.
