Mini Break

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

It was a school holiday today so The Mini Princesses and I took Murphy to Portobello beach and it was really quiet. There were people at the cafes on the promenade but the beach was blissfully deserted.

It felt like a proper day off. Just hanging on the beach with the girls and watching Murphy swimming, chasing seagulls and burying his ball in the sand.

Last week I popped in to see a friend’s daughter who was leaving to go to university and I became acutely aware that this time next year (all going well), it will be The Eldest Mini Princess who is heading off.

It’s exactly how it should be but it definitely heightens my appreciation of days like today.
