Borth-y-Gest

After Alison’s tumble from the Segway and the steep climb yesterday, she was having spasms in her back. She was happy to stay at the caravan and read and potter about in the sunshine. Sue and I headed off.

We had a quick wander in Portmadoc, but shops were closed and there wasn’t much there anyway. We drove off to to have a walk round Borth-y-Gest. It is a beautiful little place. As we walked round the headland you could see lots of large jellyfish floating around!

We then went to the beach (I can’t remember the name), it was huge and flat and you just drove straight on. Those with dogs drove to the left and those without to the right. We found a good spot, took our chairs out and sat there watching the sea and the people. There was the man who couldn’t sit still, he was up and down and faffing around. There was Mr Gadget Man who spent forty minutes parking up and setting the awning up at the side of his jeep, getting every gadget you could think of out of the back and off the roof. The tide went out and after about an hour he put everything away and then moved further down the beach and then set up all over again.

The sun was glorious and we had a picnic and just soaked up the rays. We then headed back to find Alison sitting out and feeling better. Pat and Stuart were sitting outside their lodge and so we joined them for a bottle of fizz before going off for a meal at the local pub.
