A little bit of goodwill ....
Another stroll along Maldon Prom. High tides today, the autumn equinox. It is also Car Free Day, Hobbit Day, Ice Cream Cone Day, White Chocolate Day and Doodle Day. And today, of all days, everyone needs a bit of goodwill.
This bit of Goodwill was built in 1953 by John Harker, as a Humber Keel. She carried cargo for Victor Waddington's of Swinton for many years and was in collision with a sister ship - MV ONWARD - in 1966. In 2002 she was converted for use as a house boat and was bought by her present owner in 2013.
The Humber Keel was a type of sailboat used for inshore and inland cargo transport around Hull and the Humber Estuary, particularly through the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The square sail arrangement of the ship is most probably a descended from Saxon ships of the 5th century.
Hoping you get an ice cream, some white chocolate, a bit of a doodle and ..... a bit of goodwill.
