Perspective ....

On balance, I think Nicola Sturgeon took the right decision today in stopping household visits in Scotland (although I am disappointed that step-daughter can't come and visit as planned). Northern Ireland had already announced a similar restriction while household visits are still permitted in England. It will be interesting to see which approach is taken in Wales. 

This tree stands in the grounds of the Atholl Palace Hotel (which has become a favourite place to visit since it reopened its gates). It was planted in 1880 and so has seen the Influenza epidemic of  1918-20 as well as this one and possibly more to come and serves as a reminder that all things pass.
