Time for bed....
Today was so much better than I thought it would be and not just because I ate lots of biscuits and cake. I have always been a worrier and the slightest thing upsets my rhythm. Last night was a sleepless one as I kept turning a report problem over and over in my mind trying to work out how the hell I was going to fix it.
Bony looked quite fed up with me as I kept disturbing him all night wandering past him to the bathroom with my stomach in knots. His cheery, lopsided grin was more of a grimace after the fourth time. At 4:30am, I gave up staring at the ceiling in the dark and got up anyway, only half an hour earlier than normal.
By the time I'd walked up Solihull High Street to McDonalds, the icy air was actually making me feel a bit more optimistic. I went in for my usual cuppa. It was quite busy in there and out of the corner of my tired right eye, I could see the mad woman I'd met a couple of weeks ago and hear her loudly telling a new victim her life story! I gratefully took my tea and and sat round the other side. I only stayed a few minutes pondering and then I headed up the High Street towards the council house.
I was surprised to see the Solihull tramp who rummages through all the bins and has a shopping trolley full of junk asleep in the doorway of Laura Ashley. I could hear the snores like a lawn mower rattling up the street well before I reached him. I didn't want to wake him and passed by quickly.
This picture is from around the next corner by the council house (to the left) with Touchwood Shopping Centre on the right. Five minutes later I was sat at my desk trying out idea one of three to fix my problem. With relief, I'd got it working by 11:45! I celebrated privately by devouring a mini Cadbury Swiss Roll and about ten chocolate biscuits someone had left by the kettle. Yum!
It's funny how food tastes much nicer when your worries are diminished!
