The Clyde Estuary at Bowling
Looking west from Bowling towards a watery sunset and the Henry Bell Obelisk on the promontary, commemorating the Scottish steamship pioneer. Bell made his name by building the paddle steamer PS Comet and, in 1812, using it to run Europe's first commercially viable passenger steamboat service on the River Clyde between Glasgow and Greenock.
