Red Admiral

Seen along with lots of its friends and relations in the walled garden at Kailzie Gardens in the Borders. There were also a large number of peacock butterflies, some comma and some small tortoishells. I've got an extra of a view of the herbaceous border and hills beyond the garden.

T and I started with tea and cake sitting outside in the courtyard cafe which had something of Fawlty Towers about it - I think Covid restrictions must have been getting to them. However despite that we really enjoyed sitting in the unexpected sunshine. The trip was designed to cheer us up with the threat of renewed Covid restrictions hanging over us, and it worked, to a certain degree anyway. But it has to be said that we weren't sure if we would be able to do something similar next weekend.

Back-blipped from 21st - still waiting to hear about new restrictions, looks like we may get to hear tomorrow.
