Female mallard

Lovely day, so ventured down to a different stretch of the river Don.  It was pretty quiet, but there were a few mallards, including this one in the process of taking off. There are also three smaller water birds, which turned out to be little grebes when I expanded the rather distant photos.  Must go back there again soon.
