Giant Mushrooms

Both granddaughters slept well...in bed by 6 last night and they woke at 7 and 8 and got up at 9, quite happily playing in their room and cot! We obviously wore them out with all the walking, paddling and climbing hills at Hetchell Wood Nature Reserve yesterday.

After a leisurely breakfast of the obligatory banana eggy bread we left home around 11 and headed to Ripley Castle for our 12 o’clock booking. We had a picnic lunch and a good mooch around. Lots of tree climbing was done. Found these giant mushrooms - 25cm across the two of them together!

We stopped in the village on the way out for an ice cream and then drove home to Doncaster to deliver the girls back to dad. We didn’t see mum as she was sleeping after an arduous and extended night shift.

Some beers chilling for this evening, now that calm has returned to our house.
