Defender of the city

It's high tide and the Tidal barrier is down, closing off the River Hull.
Without this a huge tract of land not just in the city, but up to 15 miles down the course of the River Hull would be inundated.
As can be seen, even on an ordinary Neap tide, it is getting pretty close to topping out, if there is a storm from the East during the winter and a tidal surge, it could prove interesting, as has happened to us in the past.
Even without rising sea levels, most of the town is below high tide level, on the street where I live it is Three feet lower than an ordinary high tide, never mind a Neap tide!
