The Far Side
We’re having a mini-holiday in our flat in Edinburgh. Since March we’ve only spent one night here, and it looks very possible that we’re going to be restricted again soon, so here we are. We’re using it as a base to forage further afield, not really wanting to mingle with the city crowds.
We began today with a call at New Hopetoun - the only place I know where you can recycle plastic plant pots. That done, I bought some bulbs, indoor and outdoor, they need our support :-)
Then it was over the Queensferry Crossing and into the Kingdom of Fife. It’s not a part of Scotland I know well in spite of growing up just across the river (you can see the Edinburgh skyline in the background).
We ended up in Dysart, where my grandfather was born. It’s a bonnie wee place, less touristified than the better known beauty spots of the East Neuk.
This is the harbour, in the cool light of evening.
