Harvest

The potato harvest is under way. The growth has been phenomenal this year, the 'tops' measure about 8 feet when stretched out on the ground. The yield of good sized tubers is good. The variety is Sarpo Mira, which can keep growing and can get too big and hollow and then rot. Early harvest ensures that they stay reasonable size and don't suffer worm or bird damage.
