A terrible loss
Ruth Bader Ginsburg died today and I am desolate. She was everything I would have liked to be - courageous, confident, outspoken, compassionate, unwavering in her devotion to the truth, and willing to take risks to be a voice for those of us who could not make ourselves heard.
Losing her from the Supreme Court will be a calamity if the Republicans insist on trying to fill her seat before there is a new president. One more right-wing close-minded Justice will condemn us all to a horrific future for years to come. I know she was holding on as long as she could and would not have left us if it were at all possible.
She was a true American hero. Goodbye, Ruth. I'll miss you.
Having lived long in time,
she lives now in timelessness
without sorrow, made perfect
by our never finished love
