Laughing Gull

This juvenile laughing gull was standing no more than two feet from me when I walked by. S/he didn't seem at all concerned when I stopped and pointed my big zoom lens at her/him. I was almost too close to focus on her/him!

It rained all afternoon yesterday, and all night (the remnants of hurricane Sally, now not even a tropical storm anymore I guess), and then miraculously stopped at 8:00 AM or so. So off we went to the beach as usual! Very windy and cool - but that's fine at the beach as far as I'm concerned. Much better than hot!
