A Desolate Shore..

... and a very quick blip! Drizzle, the very wet kind that makes your hair curl; damp wind; and damper swathes of grey but it's half - term - all two days of it! This pebbly strand, optimistically called Sunny Cove, has great charm and views - the bay is in front of it and a freshwater lagoon, usually occupied by two swans, behind it. The windswept tree sits on a stripy rock and behind that is a very pleasant headland walk, reknown for its orchids.

Too busy to blip yesterday - 50 pancakes had been made before I'd even got to school, I then had to rush into Bantry to gather ingredients for a salad to be made today, followed by Arthouse. We now have settled into the decadent routine of having fish and chips (chips and mushy peas for me) beforehand, then a glasss of something and then the movie. Yesterday's film was a darkly Swedish offering - Jagten (The Hunt) about a male helper in a nursery school who is wrongly accused by one of the children of inappropriate behaviour. Pretty sobering, but very well made film about how things can so quickly get out of hand in a small community.

The vicar was in this morning to distribute ashes and everyone is bursting with righteousness about the things they're going to give up for Lent. We made and consumed fruit salad (science) and I got to eat most of the blueberries. Cards are also finally sorted and the order sent off. A relax and a long weekend beckons.
