Larder
This morning the chap who is building the stone walls in the garden uncovered this in part of a small tunnel complex a slightly bigger area. He didn't know what it was; I initially thought it was a bunch of beetles until I poked around. It's the remains of a winter larder laid in by a mouse or shrew. The last time we put out black sunflower seeds was about 3 years ago so this shows how durable the seed cases are. All of them had been cracked and eaten so whatever saved them remembered them.
