Ash Wednesday

As today is Ash Wednesday, I've made a cross from the ashes of last year's Palm Crosses on a lightbox. The rather stark image seems in keeping with the day.

At our services today we make the sign of the cross in ash on people's foreheads - it is a very simple and moving gesture accompanied by these words:

"Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
Turn away from sin and be faithful to Christ".

Have decided not to give up Blipping for Lent!
