Travels of a Suitcase

... or should it be Travails over a Suitcase?

Another 'interesting' day but happily a day with positive outcomes.

Jamie did set off for the station on time but today it was me that turned him back!

After I helped Ruth with a phone consultation with a friendly Nurse Practitioner, we decided that with the care situation in Birmingham at an all time low and Covid restrictions/precautions making the prospect of immediate improvement highly unlikely, Ruth would benefit from some respite time with me in Wales.    After consideration it was decided that Jamie would stay on with his friends in Poole for a while longer .... just as well because I would have needed to tow at least one wheelchair behind the car otherwise!

We then had to face the issue of getting everything from Ruth's bedsit.  Yesterday's impasse with regard to my being allowed in was finally broken - after initial refusal.   Careful and largely good natured but persistent diplomacy bore fruit and having been gifted some PPE when we spoke again with the nurse to arrange medicines for Ruth's time away, I was able to help Ruth sort, pack and remove everything she needs for a few weeks.   Loud Cheers!!

As Ruth has been feeling under the weather for a while - too long to be eligible for a Covid test and we are both returning to a Covid Safe part of Wales from Covid Lockdown Birmingham, we will self isolate in Wales for the required period to ensure we reduce any risk to zero.   Overall this is also 'Loud Cheers' as we've hardly seen each other this year and could both do with some downtime.

But.....

The suitcase that made it's solo journey to Birmingham yesterday now needed to return to Poole as Jamie cannot manage without it's contents.
The wonderful friends offered to drive half way if I would do the same so tonight's Blip is of Chievely Services just off the M4/A34 interchange at 845pm tonight.

Tomorrow is another  a lovely day
