Lichen on rock

Drove up Strathfarrar this morning and did Sgurr na Lapaich (Peak of the bog) and Carn nan Gobhar (Hill of the Goat). Despite a glorious forecast Sgurr na Lapaich was in the mist all day until the slowly rising cloud just cleared the top at 4pm. But Carn nan Gobhar was clear and sunny from midday onwards. A good day for wildlife, saw a flock of Ptarmigan, well into their winter plumage with snow-white wings, golden plovers on Carn nan Gobhar, a raven on the tops and a black grouse on the way down in a majestic  forest of mature Scots Pine (sadly not regenerating). For today's blip I opted for a collage of lichen and moss on a rock. The green lichen with red fruiting bodies is common in the Highlands. I believe it's called  a Red Crest lichen (Cladonia cristatella).
