Fungi Day

One of my birthday presents yesterday was a membership of RHS. This is for a man that knows nothing about plants and hates gardening! However, Mrs madwill (who bought it for me) was quite keen as we can both get into RHS gardens on the one card! So today we had pre-booked tickets for the afternoon at Harlow Carr, Harrogate. It was basically an excuse to walk lots of steps...

Anyway we went this morning, parked the car and walked into Valley Gardens (about 30 minutes). Coffee and cake was consumed before we walked around the gardens there and then we walked back to Harlow Carr through the woods, finding plenty of fungi on the way..

We had lunch, and later an ice cream, from the Betty’s takeaway kiosk in Harlow Carr...and I walked over 16,000 steps today! I’m still none the wiser about plants. Trees are beginning to turn colour, so there may be some useful blips from there in a couple of weeks...
