How to Waste £65k

West Sussex County Council has just had an early Christmas - The Department For Transport supplied them with £780k to spend, like any good Santa Claus would, on anything to do with cycling.

We already had a cycle line - it was installed (mainly by just painting lines on the road) about 10 years ago.

Because WSCC is spending someone else's money, no expense has been spared; we now have a whole series of bright orange posts.

There are, as the title suggests, some flaws when you splash someone else's cash about. Firstly, within days this post has been flattened and several others have been pushed out of alignment making it quite unsafe to cycle past them; but no matter. Secondly no one can ever recall seeing anyone cycling in the lane - I think I could count them on the fingers of one hand over the past 10 years.
