Finally Our Cactus Arrives
This is our first "new to us" car in seventeen years.
We had expected it about a fortnight ago, however, the Transportation Company had managed to "lose it".
However, it was delivered today and everything was exactly as promised when we selected it from Arnold C’s website.
We took our first run via a certain gin distillery in Blairgowrie to HJB’s house in Stirling to celebrate his 80th birthday on the day.
We had planned to hold it here as a garden party in "The Policies". That all came to naught with the tightening of the rules.
HJB’s house is one of our prize winning projects and was completed nearly 30 years ago.
It is very much as we originally designed it and also helped to construct it.
HJB is an Atomic Physicist, and something of an avid collector.
The two extra Blipfotos show the "glass ceiling" over the entrance hall and part of his "gallery room". His collection continues to grow.
Pat had cooked his favourite meal and we. transported in the Cactus. After food and some libations, we then organised a FaceTime call with the other guests who were no longer able to join us.
It all worked out well.
The technology controlling the Cactus is quite different from our 17 year old Citroën Pluriel, but the car will suit our needs for the next few years.
I am astonished at how this little 1200cc engine can develop 130 bhp. However, all of the horses are present. This is a very quick and very comfortable car.
We like it. Not too sure about the black "privacy" glass but the full length glass sunroof or glass ceiling is superb.
