Autumnal Crocus

Fully surprised I was finding these delicate flowers in the grass next to the cycling lane; they seemed like crocusses to me, but Autumn has such flowers?!

And Yes! Internet showed me they're the Colchicum Autumnale ~ it takes some Latin to get to know their name, altho' in Dutch they're called "Herfsttijloos" what's a pronunciation that makes us think we speak double-dutch :-) anyway, crocusses in Autumn!
