Looking for clarity

So many questions at the moment around the new ‘rule of six’. Wondering if our book club should still go ahead as there are only 5 of us but if we include children (asleep upstairs) which apparently it does then we can’t meet at the house. However we could all just go out for a meal together in a busy restaurant but would rather not.
As well as this there’s all the restrictions and expectations at school regarding new Covid measures.
We now have 25% of the kids off at school already due to possible symptoms / isolating and with no tests available it won’t be long before more staff have to isolate. Not a great start.
