Minimal reflections

I took this photo of the Lodge for wide angle Wednesday - minimalism.  With thanks to Freyjad for hosting.  

Then I used it for a Digital group tutorial I found on the addition of a diamond gradient to enhance a photo.  Have to admit the photos used for the tutorial were much more beautiful than mine and the jury is out as to whether, here, the addition of the gradient enhances the photo!  Would love your opinions.
