A Dirty Job...
...but someone's gotta do it!
Frank spent all morning doing boat maintenance.
It took far longer than expected due to him not being able to get the old oil filter off it was so tightly screwed on and the tool left by the previous owner was rubbish. He ended up having to go and buy a new one in Skipton and even then it was a struggle. I always watch when he does these jobs and he explains the process to me very well. You never know when I might have to do it myself. The engine hole (what I call it!) is a very tight and awkward squeeze and Frank's joints aren't as bendy as they once were, so one day I may have to squeeze myself down into that hole! The oil filter is in the most awkward position right at the bottom underneath the alternator so everything has to be done by feel rather than sight and he cut his arm trying to do it. I was the first aider!
I've been cleaning areas of the boat that don't get done in the normal daily or weekly clean. I also relocated more spiders. I must have caught about 30 over the last 3 days and taken them up to the barn at the end of our tow path.
More will have taken their places by tomorrow!
I saw an interview with Trumpet bum this morning. He says the Corona virus will eventually just disappear due to herd mentality...I wonder if he's getting humans mixed up with sheep 8-/
I really hope the virus is under control enough by November so we can visit Sabrina & Co for Lucy's 5th Birthday. The girls are wanting video chats with us more often now and it's lovely and fun to see them. They are both starting dance classes this weekend and I treated them to their ballet shoes and leotards and silver sparkly tap shoes for Lucy.
I used to tap dance and would love to do it again!
Amelia's class is a mix of ballet and acrobatics which will enhance her ice skating moves.
It's a lot cooler today and cloudy but I don't mind as it was too hot for me the last few days anyway.
That's all :-)x
