The Gill and Gillams
A lovely day! After a few weeks of bad weather it was good to meet up with my good friend, blipper and EDPS member Flavia 13.
We met up at The Gill in Ulverston.
It was warm enough not to wear a jacket. We strolled up by the beck through the trees and came out into the field with the mini waterfall. The path does continue up and across the fields and I had thought we could follow it (maybe get some good views) but a HUGE sign at the gate warned of a bull in the field and dogs should be on a lead and other dire warnings so we turned back again.
We decided to follow the path over the bridge which turned out to be quite steep but brought us up high to have nice views across the town .
We then made our way to Gillams tea rooms, which is alongside their shop, which is reminiscent of an old Victorian shop, piled high with various teas and packets and boxes all crammed together. It would have been interesting to explore but not with a dog.
We arrived in good time and it was quiet but soon filled up. So it had been sensible to book a table in advance.
We had Brie and cranberry toastie and a cold drink and a good chat, before wandering back up to the car park. Car temperature said 26 degrees.
It is always lovely to meet up and I'm looking forward to meeting up again soon. In a few weeks the Autumn colours will be out so we should get some good photos.
Back home to drop off Fletch then down to Tesco .. needs must when the fridge is empty.
I then mowed the lawn as it s been 2 weeks since I last did it. I then sprinkled on the last of the patch magic so hopefully the grass will thicken up and stay green.
Blip shows a glimpse of Flavia who had just taken a sneaky shot of me
