I completed a good bike ride this morning without it raining, but the capricious weather gods then decided to confound the forecast by bringing in mist and drizzle for most of the rest of the day. 
I noticed this nice looking little boat which oddly seems to have dropped anchor in the middle of the river.
Yesterday I was talking to a friend who goes out on rescue calls with the Lifeboats. His last incident involved going out to sea in search of a missing person presumed washed out. The lifeboat just made the tide out but then had to wait about six hours for the sea to be high enough for them to return to port. They got back about 4:00 a.m feeling very seasick and without finding anyone.
The 'missing' woman was later found drunk on a park bench. 
One lifeboat, coastguards and a helicopter were all involved.
