So be it, let it be so

Nothing special and yet a pleasant day. Tidying stuff now that the ensuite refurbishment is (almost) finished, all at a leisurely pace. Also at a leisurely pace was a brief afternoon stroll for today's photo (at 35ºC, "leisurely" is as fast as I get!), where I saw signs of early onset Autumn.

"So be it, let it be so." - Guglielmo Marconi (1874-1937)

A day when I tried to get everything done before 21.00 as I have registered to attend a public talk via Zoom from the Chelmsford Civic Society, entitled "The Heritage Triangle" about three significant buildings in my hometown including Marconi's, the Quaker meeting house, and the Shire Hall.

Fun facts:
Guglielmo Marconi is credited with being the inventor of radio - being the first to transmit signals over about a mile and a half in 1895. His "Wireless Telegraph and Signal Company" opened it's first factory in Chelmsford four years later  (itv.com)

He shared the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics with Karl Ferdinand Braun "in recognition of their contributions to the development of wireless telegraphy"... (wikipedia)

World-famous soprano Dame Nellie Melba made her historic broadcast from .... Marconi's site in Chelmsford, Essex, on 15 June 1920, and was the first-ever live worldwide radio broadcast by a professional performer.  (BBC.com)
