Roses and dahlias.
The Feast Day of Our Lady of Sorrows. Roman Catholic.
I went out in the mid morning, before it got too hot, as I am not too keen on sweltering weather. I Found plenty to interest my passion for beauty in the environment. The butterflies all but disappeared when we had a recent cold spell. This morning there were several small tortoiseshells on pink sedum and flying about near front gardens. I also saw a Red Admiral up at The Esplanade where the old roses grow.
I decided on these beautiful roses and dahlias, flowers loved by Mum and Dad and always a joy to see in their garden when I was growing up.
The warmth of the sun brought out the musky fragrance of these roses.
