Rosa ecae

One of the prettiest of our early Spring roses.  It's a species rose from Afghanistan, and just coming into flower.  A tiny flower surrounded by ferny foliage.  The downside is that it has the wickedest thorns, no doubt to deter goats from devouring it.

I should tell them that there aren't any goats in Belair NP, they were eradicated last year.  (True story - some low life actually dumped their goat herd into the Park, where they bred prolifically.  It took forever to get rid of them).
