Holy well

Today B came over to visit and we went over to see L and co. We picked up Arnold the Labrador and went to find the holy well at Southam. I had read that it was the oldest holy well in the country. We went on a lovely footpath by the river and across the fields. We saw some highland cattle. It was a beautiful fine day. When we first saw the holy well there were some children paddling in it. We came back from our walk and then took some photos of it. The article I read about it said it was first mentioned in 998 AD on a charter to Leofwine by King Ethelred the Unready!
